I want to take a break but idk how he'll react

I've been dating the same guy for a few years. He shuts me out everytime I find out he's lied to me about talkin to his ex. It's the same stupid argument that never gets anywhere and all it's going to do is bug me since all I find is a new skeleton in his closet. The lies are piling up and I'm done with giving him the chance to admit to his faults so we can move on.
I want to take a break...
But he has threatened before to commit suicide and he's come close. I just want to take a simple break...but idk how to approach him about it.

Instead of taking a break... Take him to the nearest emergency ward instead and have him assessed by a psychiatrist. Then, take yourself out of his life and stop trying to fix him yourself.

With this info and with the info in your other threads this relationship isn't going to last a lifetime so why torture yourself for the next "X" number of years until you finally get the gurl balls to leave him or, his ex takes him back and he leaves you.

You've been posting this same stuff since April. What good things does he bring to you that keeps you a prisoner to him?
