Yes, I also think this kind of thing should be done privately. But I can't see how the forum would be affected. Not legally responsible, since this is an open forum (ppl don't pay for access for e.g.) and ppl can choose or not to participate.

On the whole issue of music copying, I think the onus is on the record companies to get better tech to prevent this, if they are serious. Personally, I think their case is hopeless, but this won't stop the greedy & powerful from trying to prevent it. I mean, next we'll be preventing ppl from "copying" a nice shirt design when they buy fabric...
