Chicks Before Dicks?

I've recently started talking to a guy who used to date one of my associates. They dated 3 months ago after she broke up with her boyfriend. They dated for ONE WEEK then she broke up with him to go back to her ex, who eventually left her. Fast forward to Now: He and I have been close friends for the last 6 months, he was there for me before my big breakup, through it, and afterwards. A few weeks ago, he came to me telling me he really cared for me and was scared to tell me but he has strong feelings for him. We've hung out Alot since then and I've really gotten to know him and have growing feelings towards him. When my associate (his one week ex) found out, she came out me ferociously! Although she has been with her new boyfriend for over a month and claims she loves him, she was obviously offended and seemed obsessive of the situation. She called me a Backstabber, untrustworthy, a liar, etc. and ranted about me on social media lol you get the picture..

I've done nothing with the dude and feel like I have not wronged her in anyway. I've just started getting to know him and kinda think I shouldn't keep contact with him even though he's a Great guy. Am I really in the wrong here?! Or am I right that she is overreacting. How would I even go about handling this??

She sounds unbalanced... they only dated for a week, and she's in another relationship now. Don't mind her, you're doing nothing wrong. You two aren't even friends ffs.

Girl does sound a bit crazy, but apparently there's this girl code that all exes of girls you know are off limits. Um... Yea no. Unless they were super serious and I'm pretty good friends with the girl.... I don't really care about that rule. Maybe because I've had girl friends ditch me for guys before.

The way I'd deal with this depends on how you know her. You say that she's an 'associate' - does this mean she works with you? Are you under the same Personnel umbrella? Or is she a social aquaintance?

In short, my thoughts are along the lines of complaining to your personnel dept about her bullying if she's a workmate. Or just delete her from your life if she's an aquaintance.

But I'd still keep dating this guy.

Sorry I meant "He has feelings for me" Yea the "girl code" doesnt even make sense in this situation b/c we only go to the same school and have had classes together. I wouldn't call her a friend. She does seem kinda crazy to me O.o. I'd just rather avoid all the drama. Thanks for the Input guys!
