move on and hope for the best or be proactive?

I was in a relationship with a girl the spring semester of 2012. The relationship was very intense and we reached very high levels of passion for each other. It basically went sour when I found out her 28 year old ex was trying to come back into the picture... I'll be honest.. it was alot for me to handle knowing that someone almost a decade older than me was plotting on my girlfriend. I really couldn't get a handle on myself after finding this out. I started to change and eventually she couldn't deal with my depressing attiude any longer.. she broke up with me at the end of the semester. Ofcourse I learned alot about myself, relationships, and my own insecurities from this experience but... I still lover her!! I just want to know should I take the approach of if its meant to be shell come back or should I make an effort to re-insert or re-present in some way the new improved me into her life?

I think that if you still love her then go for it. Tell her that you still love her and just see what she says. You'll never know if you don't put yourself out there. If she's not feeling it then let it be closure for you. But if she wants to pursue something with you then yay!
