I'm 49 so here's my view. I don't know if men in their 40s are less likely to commit. Perhaps by your 40s you've been around, perhaps had relationships that failed so you're simply going to be more prudent. Or perhaps we have a clearer idea what we want and don't want to waste time settling for less than we want.

Some men do and there are those who just don't. Stop dating ones who don't. You had 7 years to figure out he is one that doesn't. Age has nothing to do with this, it's the type of guy you picked.
