What about the flip side of this? Wealthy guys who buy their GFs things and it makes them uncomfortable? Isn't the girl being somewhat silly if 1. the man enjoys it, and 2. he can afford it?
All relationships are transactions of a sort. Her 'love language' seems to be enjoying gifts. Yours seems to be words and acts of appreciation (affirmation, I think). She gets hers, but you don't get yours. That is unfair and what needs correcting through communication, as others have already said.
Tell her what makes you happy and ask for it. If she loves you she will give it to you, willingly. If not, then find someone who will. Sounds like you have a lot to offer. Good luck.
Second thoughts can generally be amended with judicious action; injudicious actions can seldom be recovered with second thoughts.
