All you you tube experts i need your help, first with you tube now to create a new you tube channel do you need a google mail account now, before you could create a you tube channel with just a normal hotmail or e mail account but it looks to have changed. Also what are channel views? And what is classed as a channel view, mine says i have 256 channel views but i have no uploaded videos so how have i got these channel views wen only one other person knows i have a you tube channel

Hey, this is a simple explanation. Most search engines use bots called "Spiders" to constantly search the web and check for new pages to add to their directories. This is why you have hits with no videos.

If you want an example, look at the active users on this site right now, you'll see things like "Baidubot" and "Google Spider" and names like that. They're automated programs indexing our pages.
