    Improving Self Esteem

there is this girl that im really close to, and she is really pretty.
she is a good friend of mine and i care very much about her.

she likes me more than shes ever liked any other guy, so dont say she doesnt like me, but..
every time i compliment her on how beautiful she is, she disagrees. and whats even worse is she isnt eating right and i have a feeling she is anorexic, because she has lost 15 lbs over 2-3 weeks from not eating. me and her mom really care about her and want her to stop. im not in control of her life but i suggested professional help, and got no comment.
she thinks she is obese, but she said herself that starving isnt helping...so why hasnt she stopped yet??????????

she doesnt think she is beautiful and she is just georgous.

i guess what im asking for is some advice on making her feel better about what she looks like, and/or improving her self esteem.

there are azillion reasons people turn anorexic but before u do anything drastic to "help" her u need to make sure u know for a fact that she is
as for the self esteem before i say anything how old is this girl?

The only thing you can do is to draw it to the attention of her parents or a school official. There is nothing you can say that will change her mind; if she in suffering from an eating disorder, she needs professional help. However, you ought to stop discussing her weight with her AT ALL as it fuels her need to gain attention this way. Do you ever notice how much approval and attention one gets when they lose weight? It acts as motivation to continue losing so people will continue noticing you.

By what you described im would probably put money on that she is anorexic, possibly because what shh said about gaining more and more attention or a lack of self esteem. If she is anorexic nothing you say is going to make her change her mind, best thing you could do for her is inform a school councler or parent and let them make arrangemts for professional help.

Hope it all turns out all right
