Is is alright to ask out the girl I like to a sports match?

The movies and dinner is too common and because the girl I like also like the same sport as me, I thought it will be alright. What do you think.

Sounds like a cool/original idea do you have to tell her it is a date? I think she will get the message? Or you could just say, "would you like to go on a date to watch ..... play?" Or "ive got two tickets to watch .... I'd love it if you would come with me" good luck I hope it goes great!

I was thinking of saying "Would you like to go out with me to watch .......... play?" is this also alright?
