Being mean to someone you like

Has anyone ever experienced being mean to somebody you like because your not supposed to like them because they have a boyfriend etc. Is being mean to them kind of a form of defence to trying to hold back feelings towards a person you shouldnt be having feelings for??

No, I can't say that I've been mean to someone I want but can't have.
Never regret anything that has happened in your life. It cannot be changed, forgotten or undone. So, take it as a lesson learned and move on.

Being an asshole to her is only going to make things more complicated than need be. If you feel like you shouldn't bone her for whatever reason then the most logical course of action is to not bone her. Being cunty in the name of not boning her is just unnecessary drama. Plus if she has hot friends you risk burning a potential bridge.

    Define "being mean".

I have ignored people I liked or was crushing on when I knew they were unavailable. In some ways that is mean but I also need to do it for self preservation.

Going out of the way to affirmatively hurt the object of your affection because you can't be with them right now is destructive & immature. Even if the other person becomes available, they should blow off the person who was mean to them.

Yes, I know the stereotype, that little boys on the playground pull the pigtails of girls they like but after elementary school you need to find another way to get somebody's attention.
