Do boyfriends usually have the same personality types as a girl's close male friends?

Hi all,

1) Some girls have several really close male friends that they can get along with very well, even to the extent of walking closely and occasionally touching / hugging each other when the fun is on, or the conversation gets interesting.
Suppose these male friends all have one thing in common. For e.g: they are all bad boys, or they're the brainy types, or they are the funniest guys around.

Does that mean that when the girl finds a boyfriend, the boyfriend will tend to be of the same type as her closest male friends? Or could it be entirely of a different personality type together?
For e.g: Girl has 3 close male friends of the same personality type. Is it possible her future boyfriend will belong to another personality type altogether?

2) Secondly, I think some guys are just naturally not funny or witty, me being a good example. I don't think humor can be learnt, because people who try to learn how to be funny by reading self-help books end up cracking those goody-type corporate jokes that are not super funny etc. Girls always say they want a funny guy, so that means whose un-funny guys are all screwed? Is there any other way we can compensate for that (other than having fast cars and $$$).
Can being playful, sweet talk and flirting somehow make up for lack of funniness?

Usually the opposite because they are guys the girl wouldn't date, that's why they are "friends". These male friends are usually doormats or "nice guys". We've had many of these guys on our forum complaining how their female friend that they have a crush on can't figure out why she went for a jerk and not a nice guy like him.

As for #2, it's confidence that gets the girl. If you are bold and out going, you win because it shows strength and power.
