Not being a girl, I can only assume bad sex means lack of knowing what one is doing, no rhythm or pacing whatsoever, neither experiencing orgasm and not doing anything particularly (or even remotely) well...

Lots of women can't be brought to orgasm just off traditional sex so that doesn't always mean the guy is bad at sex, imo.
Practice makes perfect, the more you try the better or skilled you can become at it.
