i like my boss, cant figure if he likes me...

hello,
so im sure my question isn't unusual, but i need advice on how to react, is it in my head...does he feel the same way??

we met a couple of weeks ago and started working on a project together. professionally we are absolutely on the same page, and value each others input. hes made me privy to a lot of dream projects he had shelved over the years.
we text a lot, like, a lot. a couple of evenings all the way up till 4 am. nothing inappropriate, but just all kinds of conversation. although past couple of days its been slow... however, main thing.. he hasnt asked me out to dinner, he hasnt made any plans with me... when we meet (for work) we have a great time talking about work and everything else under the sun. there is definately electricity. im not sure what to do though. i mean, im working with him, but i do find him terribly attractive. we're tiptoeing around the touch barrier though. the awkward hugs and the cheek kisses hello and goodbye. im going to a fun concert with another person in the team in a couple of days, i was thinking id invite him. should i?? how do i even know if he's thinking the same thing.

If he's your boss, I thinks it's a bad idea to start a relationship with him. What happens if the relationship does not pan out? Are you going to leave the job or ask for a transfer?

im a freelancer... hes just one of the people im working with. its a 3 month long project.... but i need to know if he and i are even on the same page...
