    Frasbee's "See You Later" Thread

    Intro:
I'm sure you guys were just waiting for when I'd put this one up.

Goodbye threads are fickle no matter what kind of forum you're in.

Don't worry, I understand this so just bear with me a bit.

Where I'm goin', why I'm goin':

As most of the regulars know, I'm set for Wednesday to travel to South Carolina to serve in a volunteer service program called AmeriCorps *NCCC (National Civilian Community Corps).

I basically joined because I haven't had anything better to do. I used to do a lot of service projects in highschool and was even awarded the Bronze Congressional Award medal. My service learning director from my highschool told me I might want to look into it. After a year of nothing but work and a failed attempt at community college I figured why not.

Here's a little summary of the organization (copied from the AmeriCorps website, cause I'm lazy):

    AmeriCorps Summary:

AmeriCorps*NCCC requires an intensive, 10-month commitment. Members serve in teams of ten to twelve and are assigned to projects throughout the region served by their campus. They are trained in CPR, first aid, public safety, and other skills before beginning their first service project.(training is in the first 5 weeks, and no it's not guaranteed I'll get to help out with Katrina as the projects are random)

AmeriCorps*NCCC members serve communities in every state, but live and train at five regional campuses. Members perform team-based service projects in six different areas: environment, education (boring), public safety, unmet needs, homelands security, and disaster relief (Katrina!).

Transportation, food, shelter (dorms), cothing (uniforms) are all paid for. And members receive a "living allowance" of what comes out to about 150 dollars every other week. There is also an education award for about $4,000 for those interested in it.
The goodbye part, kind of but not really:

So now you all know what I'm gonna be up to. I've only been here since December but I've made some cool friends on here, which basically consists of all the regulars. I'd start naming names, but you all know who you are...plus I'd feel like an idiot if I forgot somebody...actually screw it, I wanna see who I do forget.

    Acknowledgements:

Mike (Kiechi): I remember you from when I first signed up, before the asians thread was ever closed. It's been fun talkin' to you and gettin' to know you better. Remember the good ol' days of MSN? Them were the days...Good luck with wherever you choose to go, and don't go too gangsta on us. Oh yeah and keep that mod job open for me when I get back.

Tone: I've argued with and against you. I'd say you're one of the more "normal" guys on here, and by that I mean you're a difficult one to read and it's always interesting to read your responses.

Only-Virgins: We both know I'm one of the few to have defeated you, why deny it? Oh and try not to find that virgin until I'm around to read about it. Y'know what? I think I'll play a good game of Halo 2 on my Halo Edition Xbox in honor of you. And to think...Half-Life 2 is gonna be on Xbox, I know you're excited!

Cybog: I kinda realized I rarely have any "direct" contact with you. Regardless it's always enjoyable to watch the saps being told off with your ever so lengthy posts to their all too common problems. I find that impressive as I wouldn't have the patience.

Illusional (raverboy): Dude. You're just a whackjob. Don't forget to hassle the new guys on my behalf.

'Sombra: Don't let all that power go to your head, I heard it causes wrinkles.

Shh!: It's cool that you tolerate my use of the swastika even after our lengthy argument. Oh and remember, a real post whore goes quantity over quality. RSK? He's a post whore. You're just a geek. Oh yeah, where's that picture I heard you have floatin' around?

RSK: You sonofabitch. Few people get under my skin. You're one of the few. I have to respect that in weird way. Though lately you've toned down your post whorish ways I suspect when I come back I'm going to find 80 "what kind of -blank- makes you feel -blank-" threads. You might deny it...but it's true.

Chlorine: I always looked forward to what your opinion was of my new color scheme of the week/day. Unfortunately I won't be able to change them while I'm gone though as they're all saved on my computer. I think I might go back to my original black swastika on a white background. It was the first one I used on here.

'Wing: I've seen you as the kid brother here on LF. Hope that graphic arts stuff goes well for you, just remember to be patient and keep an open mind. Plus I'm sure Cybog has plenty of tips for ya. Just don't forget to do your homework. And if things go sour with your girlfriend (not that they would or anything...) you know where to go. Plenty of shoulders here to go around.

Lloyd: You're an a$$hole. But you already knew that. Don't pick on Wing too much. And keep postin' those jokes and comics. That passedoutchick comic was a classic.

Asip4u: I took me the longest time to understand your username. Was a sad day when you left, you're one of the few that kept my PM box ripe with new messages which was always a pleasure. Root for the Eagles for me in case I can't this year.

nomas: You got a cool thing goin' for you. I wish you the best of luck with your travels. Pictures pictures pictures. We love 'em. Keep takin' em. Thank you for your input and encouragement. Hopefully you'll get to visit before this thread passes on to the land of dead threads.

arty: I still don't know what your username means, if anything at all. I hope you had good clean fun with 'sombra. Ha..."clean" fun. Riiiight.

Steve: Where the hell have you been? Have you died? I've always enjoyed watchin' you confuse people as to your gender identity. Now that I think about it...I was one of those people...bastard. Enjoy the music I sent you!

Fawn: The canadian chick from...up north...anyway, I wish you had told me you had City of Heroes sooner! I love playin' games with people I know, maybe when I get back I'll pick it up...if you haven't already moved on to City of Villains that is.

Ellynn: The late night chick! I could usually expect to come on to find your name in the "currently active users" list at 3 am. The boards needed a chick with some good advice for the poor saps in the dating and dumping forums. You and Cybog should team up. He breaks 'em down, and you can build 'em back up. People like gettin' advice from chicks more than guys anyway.

tooxshort: Those late nights of gay cyber sex were always a joy. You can't deny it. Don't deny it! speaking of which...

Innova: We both know that I always held a more special place in your heart than Skye. I told you she would break you heart! But I promise I won't sweet thang.

'Rose: Was good to see you back. You were like the official sex advisor and everybody was left jerkin' off after you left. Have fun with that school thing, I know I wouldn't.
Alright bitches. My mind is ruins after having to rack my brain so much. If I left you out, send me a donut and I'll be sure think about adding you later.

It's about time I got a good break from here though, even when I was workin' those crazy hours at GameStop I still managed to be a bit of a post whore, more so since I quit.

However! According to my sources we will have internet access on the base, but I do not know the specifics of that privilege.

I'm warning you all now that I will visit if I can, but considering I have over 250 new people to meet (at least half of them girls) and a lot to learn I'm going to assume it won't be very often. (From those I've talked to, it looks like I'll be gettin' some Frisbee action, woooo!)

So basically. My departure will only be tentative at best so this is more of a..."till I get back on, which hopefully won't be long" thread.

This damn thread took me an hour, a frikkin' hour to type up. You see? I ****in' love you guys that much.

    Conclusion:

One last thing. For those who didn't know, my name is Anthony Choi.

Most of my friends just call me Choi.

Funny how long we can all "know" eachother and yet know so little.

On that note I think I'm gonna do some more cleanin' and packin'.

Wow, you hardly got to know, yet you've already pegged me as an *******? That's cool; I guess to some I could be

Well Good Luck to you! I respect the fact that you're going somewhere new (for $10/day Bwahaha!) to do good to others.

Maybe next time you're back up in the Philly area, I'll buy you a beer!

    ::sniff, sniff::

So sad for us, but you are just the type of guy the world needs, and I am excited to see you take such a bold, promising step to your undoubtedly brilliant future. I wish all kids your age possessed your dedication to community service, which I consider symbolic of a genuinely good and truly humane person.

But yeah, I still don't like your swastika.

    ::kisses to your forehead::

    Good luck.

    Acknowledgement additions:

Bluesummer:For the longest time I envisioned you as some kind of short haired dyke solely based off of your avatar. Fortunately I came across one of your pictures in the gallery and realized...you don't have short hair!

But seriously now, there's few thing I love seein' more than an interracial relationship, you definitely add some variety to the forums. I enjoyed bustin' on Iknoweverything's when he started spoutin' his right wing babble with you. Be sure to send me a red flag and a link in my PM box if he ever starts it up again so I can jump on it as soon as I can.

TAVS: I still don't know who you are other than the dude with the Dilbert avatar.

I'm uh...sure gonna miss seein' that Dilbert avatar...

Aw look, you got me tearin' up!
And to answer the question of my return, YES.

I intend on returning as soon as possible, however I won't be able to post nearly as much as I used to.

Remember, this is the "See you later" thread, not the "goodbye" thread.

    There are no goodbye's here.

    .
So that means you still think I'm a dyke? (And maybe it's just me, but I thought the avatar pic had long hair....maybe I should consider a change. Hmmmm)

J/k.....I can never roast IKE like you. I'm lacking in the sarcasm department.
