Because even when we truly don't know where we're going, we hope that we can somehow find our way, otherwise it makes us seem incompetent.

TAVS/Asip4u-----It's exasperating. I had an inkling that "he" didn't want to look incompetent, but...why would he assume I'de think that. And in order to avoid arguments, I patiently sat in the car as we drove around in circles, round and round. I just shut up. And another time I let myself be dragged up and down a street several times, just followed him, until we finally found the place. And looking back, you know what the funniest part was? Midway some stranger came up to us and said "Do you need help, you look lost" and I opened my mouth to say "....." and "he" cut me off by telling the stranger, "No, we are managing just fine".

yup , once ended up in another city doing this , but i was 16 at the time and it was my first time out of my area alone in a car ... at some point i was wondering why there were cows in this part of the city .

Well to be honest, I dont have an answer for you. I never drive in circles, I have a very good sense of direction and always know where I'm going.
