Talking to the Ex

I know I have mentioned him countless times before in a handful of threads. But the guy I am with for the past 8 months, we've been through a lot. He said he went through a lot with his 6 year relationship, and him being with me now, it really has been having me think, the way he is with me, was he this way with his ex too? Part of me really wants to talk to his ex and ask her, "How was he with you? Did he do this or that with you?" those types of questions, so I can get an idea, "okay he has always been this way and he won't ever change or he can change." He does take medication for his ADHD and suffers from anxiety as well, so he does change doctors and medications periodically, but only because of the other reasons of his allergy to gluten and soy, so that is put into affect for the medication as well. So a lot of changes happen a lot. So what should I do? Do you think I should talk to the ex or do you think that's not a good idea? What would you do?

I think talking to his ex is a horrible idea and is a huge can of worms. If you need the guy to change and become what you'd like him to be, then he's not the guy for you.
