I'm with you Junsui... That didn't make any sense... disrespecting woman??? did we forget he lied to, and cheated on his wife. And not to mention lied about doing it in the first place on public Television...Originally Posted by Junsui

Do these terms only apply to men? Are there any ubersexual women? Why is the standard relative to women... something I'm missing here?
The whole thing seems like some media ppl trying to sound smarter than they actually are. Something to do with making magazines, etc. more interesting to the average female reader.
C'mon then, lets start our own neologisms. We can document that we started them here and see how long it takes for them to become prevalent on the internet. New thread coming up!
Eh - I loved Clinton. Why should I care if he cheated on his wife? She didn't seem to mind too much. In fact, I would bet they had some sort of an "arrangement". Besides, his lies look like small potatoes compared to what the current administration has lied about, and Clinton's lies about sex (which was not really the public's business) didn't cost any lives. I would definitely consider Clinton's presidency the "good old days" by comparison.Originally Posted by Junsui
Shh, have you read "Stupid White Men"? Michael Moore. You'd really like it, I think. He talks about Clinton vs. Bush as a simple case of those who screw overtly vs. those who screw covertly. Amusing book.
I am guessing that women tend to embrace the shedding of the negative characteristics associated with masculinity ("disrespect toward women, emotional emptiness, complete ignorance of anything cultural outside of sports, beer, burgers, and athletic shoes") while men still embrace the negative ones associated with femininity ("dumb blonde" stereotypes). If women are strong, powerful and smart, many men still feel threatened.Originally Posted by indigosoul
Hehe - I have skimmed the book. Michael Moore is highly entertaining, even if he is overtly biased.Originally Posted by indigosoul

I think I have a definition for the first. But the second eludes me.
Any suggestions from the gang as to what the made-up words might/could mean?
Speak less. Say more.
Maybe the administration today has lied about things, but I was pointing him out as just a man, not ex president lying to the nation. He was doing stuff before he became president. I only pointed it out because I thought it was odd that he was listed in there.Originally Posted by shh!
And things did happen during Clinton's presidency, but I hate politics and don't really care to go into all of that.
Yes, a deficit was turned into a surplus, the economy boomed, American people had jobs, American soldiers werent' dying needlessly, people were just better off....but don't get into that.Originally Posted by Junsui
I doubt very much that Hillary was surprised about any of his misdeeds. Men in positions of power are always getting themselves into trouble with other women. Warren Harding fathered an illegitimate child just before taking presidential office, and Thomas Jefferson was rumored to have broken his arm jumping out of his mistress' bedroom window to escape her husband. Of course, we all know about JKF's infidelities. Andrew Jackson, Franklin Roosevelt, Dwight Eisenhower and even George H.W. Bush have been rumored to have had affairs. George Washington was supposedly in love with his best friend's wife.
I don't know why I should care more about a man's infidelity than his own wife does, whether or not he is in office. They aren't priests - they are men.
lol ok I'm not trying to argue and I know people in power have been known to have affairs. And I know Hillary didn't give a shit. I'm not even trying to get into that. I just found it odd that they listed Clinton amoung other men "who embrace the positive aspects of their masculinity such as confidence, leadership, passion and compassion, without giving in to the stereotypes that give guys a bad name, including disrespect toward women, emotional emptiness, complete ignorance of anything cultural outside of sports, beer, burgers, and athletic shoes." He was a great president, I'm not arguing anything about presidency.
