Sport Sport Sport! particularly need guys help for this one

Hi, I've been with my boyf for just over 5 and a half years, we're both early twenties but it seems that sport has taken over our relationship - surely I'm not alone!! every week no kidding he plays football 2 nights a week, martial arts another night and then on weekends he surfs most of one of the days and also plays golf. and usually the first thing he does when he comes over is switch the tv on to watch sport! this usually gets worse th/out the year as he fills in for other teams like basketball, soccer etc. and has footy on weekends too. eek! anyway, i've never asked him to stop any of it because its what he loves doing and he's young and he shouldn't be tied down and whatnot but he does know that I feel like its not enough for me and it hasn't changed! However, its intruding into plans we have now. He'll fit whatever sports he can into a day off and we hardly have any time together. This tells me that I'm not important enough in his life at the moment. I don't know if I can see a future for us, especially not if this continues. What do you guys think? Is this normal? Thanks for your help

it is normal for men to like sports , but to dismiss his lady for more sports , Not normal .

it sounds like he doesnt appreciate you . let him know that all his sports are screwing up the relationship , tell him to slow down on the testosterone . Unless he wants to make it big into sports he shoulnt make it his life . I understand some lever of sports is good for the health , but this guy sounds like thats all he thinks about . Does he takes drugs because for someone to do sports everyday and not be tired is abnormal ... especially if you pick sports over woman .

I agree with Late vamp.... its not normal for a guy to chose sports over sometime with his girl... especially if he's playing sports all the time. I would talk to him and ask him what's up? Maybe he's not ready for a commitment right now, but doesnt want to admit it. Which is why he's put all his focus into activity. I've noticed that guys tend to think that if you ignore an issue... it doesnt exist. Or he can be the type of guy who when he's got a passion for something... he goes for it with all his heart. And he doesnt realize what it's doing to your relationship.

I would just ask him what's up... and maybe you can come to a solution where some nights you set aside to be together (without distractions) and other nights he can do is own thing. If he cares about you, he'll come to a medium.

    Hope everything works out!

sometimes us guys get into something so much that we sorta forget that theres someone else by our side needing our attention too. Or, we just feel suffocated by the person and need to let off some steam. Regardless, what he needs is a wake up call, hes getting too comfortable in the relationship and hes taking advantage of it.

Sheeezzz...I must be the only man on the planet that detests sports. I just never got it. I've been to many a movie with my lady on a Super Bowl Sunday, I didn't even know who was playing and could care less.

Having said that, I worked for fourteen years for the law firm that owns a NBA team, met a lot of the atheletes and they seemed like really cool guys. The after game parties were fun. Actually met and hung out with O.J. Simpson at a birthday party right after the Lakers won the playoffs in the late '80s. (pre-murders) I asked to see his championship ring! He politely informed me that he had played football, not basketball. Oops... Hell, I didn't know.

    True story....

I was waiting for that one. LOL. (BTW, my name's not Marvin, he was a good singer tho)

Yeah, you're right. Any guy that hates sports is flaming gay. Unlike guys who enjoy watching well built sweaty men running around in tight trousers or shorts, patting each other on their ugly hairy asses, hugging and showering and getting drunk together after the 'big game.' That is SO macho.

I have my own defination of sports, and it involves the female species. Enjoy your beer, buddies and buffalo wings on S/B Sunday. I'd rather be eating something else.

First, "gaye" was a joke about some ex-poster named "Jaye" who claimed he was bi.

Secondly, "females" aren't sport, they are human beings, queens and should be cherished and treated as such.
