Sticky Situation: Comments Please

Hello All, My name is Kevin; I’m 24 and work as an Internet Developer. I’m married for 3 years and have one kid of 2 years; my wife and I are together for over four years. I really love my wife and kid but I’m in a very sticky situation and I could do with some advice. Before I could get together with my wife I fell in love with this girl (say we call her D), now we never went out or anything, never kissed but I was madly in love with her (not obsessed), D always rejected me when I asked her out, but she also played games so I don’t stop asking her out. My wife is gorgeous, in fact more sexy than D and I’m highly attracted to my wife but I think I’m still in love with D. Not a day goes by without me thinking about D, I’ve tried everything to get over her but I just cant. The only reason I went out with my wife was to make D jealous and D did give me some indication of jealousy but I just ignored it as I was having so much fun with my wife. I love my wife but I’m in love with D. Now I haven’t seen or heard from D in over a year now and I still miss her and want to see her. Can anyone help me with this situation?

Therapy.

And I'm not being an ass, I mean this in all seriousness. A relationship counselor can help you out here. I think it's good that you're trying to figure out what to do and asking for help, but my recommendation is to go to a professional therapist. Someone who has experience in situations similar (if not EXACT) to yours.

What makes me think that you should really seek professional help is mainly that you have a child with your wife, are in (even though you may currently think it's just a facade) a 'happy home' as a family, and obviously do care about your family.

I just don't want you to take someone's advice (who for all you know, but never would have guessed is some thirteen year old numbskull just here for entertainment purposes) and end up ****ing up your family situation, losing your child to custody of the mother, all for what very well could be a hopeless dream.
