This movie = the gayest thing since gay came to gaytown. 'Nuff said.
Heit ist mein taug.
have you seen it?
A little bit yes, I walked in and caught about 20-30 minutes of it after I got out of Walk the Line. A good movie to compare it to really. Both are about musicians, however one is a post-mortem testiment of an artists life while the other is about a trend artist who's career is beginning it's decline. It's hard to respect a movie that's made just to shake one's ass on the screen in an attempt at one last big payout. To be consistent I felt the same way about 8-Mile which I saw in it's entirety. It's not about my dislike for his music either because, quite honestly, I didn't know anything about Johnny Cash either nor did I ever even hear any of his music save for Ring of Fire.
All in all, both are typical stories of rises, falls and rebirths of a popular musician but Walk the Line has a lot more taste and substance. I can't bring myself to feel anything but shame for someone who feels they need to be chronicled before their entire story is over. When Johnny Cash died it was a fairly large media event, do you think it will be remotely so when 50 Cent passes?

That depends on whether 50 Cent is murdered by another rapper or dies of natural causes, don't you think?Originally Posted by Zekk_T_Strife
Anyway, from what I have read, Johnny Cash in his day was a much bigger star than 50 Cent. He had much broader appeal. I know several of his songs. My parents were WAY into country music when I was growing up.
And I liked 8 Mile. Yes, it was the same old story (this genre has been done to death) but it gave me a greater appreciation for rap music.
You didn't even see the whole movie and you're ripping it. Typical.
This is what I meant by stay out of here. That was the most terrible comparison ever.
Like shh! said it depends on his cause of death.
Having seen neither film, I'd say comparisons between the two are moot.

That was just stupid. Regardless of what rules you want to place on your threads the fact remains you're asking opinions. If you just want to hear peoples optimisms then you're in the wrong place bud. Frankly, I expected that kind of retort from you, but seeing as how I've seen more than you have I'd say as it stands I'm in a better position to give an opinion. 30 minutes was more than enough to help me scoot out of the theater. Opinion given, chill out.Originally Posted by Tone

Has a point there, Tone. Some people only need a minute or two to form their opinions.

...this is just my perspective on the situation...
Hey you might be onto somethin there, Hayward. Wonder if he's that ignorant about forming his opinion on people too? Or do you think his ignorance only applies to movies?Originally Posted by whaywardj

It always amuses me that the terms of "ignorance" and also "hypocrisy" are often exemplified most by those who use them often. Fascinating...

How do you figure? I'd really love to hear your explanation to that comment.
I've tried to be nice to you, I've tried to get to know you. But you always have some smart ass statement to make around me, and I'm sorry, I'm not just gonna let that kind of stuff go. I even tried helping you in your serious thread about your lady friend you are interested in.
We could easily be buds, but the fact remains, when people say stupid shit - I'll be the first to pop my head up and call you out on it. Sorry, that's just me!
That's not how I am.
My goodness, do I have to put you two in seperate corners?????
