what do you mean?
I guess it is always better to say what you want to say. If you send a letter and it is stupid and she thinks it is funny then whocares? I know I did. Let her know how you feel.

i didnt post any names did i? i mean i havent even said what mine is, cos it aint buck rogers, i just took that from the sci-fi character, which i mainly used cos its also a song by my fave band. i wouldnt run the risk of posting names anyway.
why did you say it though? did i give the impression that i was gonna post names?
and The Great OV, what did you mean when you said "I know I did"?
thanks ...
I was almost in the same situation except even worse, I never asked her out AT ALL. yet...a few years later I still sent her a really corny and cheesy letter...but I don't care because I feel good that I did..because I know that she knows how I feel. I got the news that she already is in a long relationship and is leading to a long term commitment maybe, so I really didn't get much of a reply...but you should send her the letter or just let her know some way no matter the outcome. I think the worst thing that happened to you is that she actually said yes at first and then called it off...because I am sure it has made you wonder why she did that for a long time.
What are the chances of her also visiting this forum? lol .0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 0009%

Okay, OV. Why don't you tell us your name and post a pic, if this place is so private?

I did know that, actually, but I didn't know everybody did.

Where's the letter Buck Rogers!?!?
My advice is to keep it short and sweet. Less is more.
Good for you sending it!
You're welcome, buck!
About the letter, I would type it since I am the type to get very frustrated when trying to decipher someone's handwriting. I have zero patience. On the other hand, I can see how a handwritten letter would express more sincerity and intimacy, although an original poem would convey the same idea... I think you get the point. It's a matter of the girl's personal preference. In your brief interactions with her, did you get a sense of what she would prefer?
that means alot, knowing that you sent her a letter and felt better by doing it. in the end thats what this is all about, i want to feel like ive tried to resolve old issues and see if i feel better because by it.
the letter at the moment is on the computer. im typing it out first so its easy to edit and delete bits, but ill hand-write it up after.
i agree that its best to keep it as short as possible but i want to say everything i feel i need to say. how short do you think it should be, as in A4 pages?
well if i tried and spent time writing it up then it wouldnt really need much deciphering, i could probably make it pretty neat if i tried. i think handwritten would mean more though, its more personal and like you said, sincerity and intimacy, that is what the letters all about. i have no idea what her preference would be but personally i think id feel better writing it. ok so it'll take longer but i think it'll be worth it.
thanks
LoL, don't think about it. I can't believe how much thought effrot you put into how you should write the letter...don't...put more thought into what should be in it. I typed mine, no reason other then it is quicker and I am lazy...hell.. after I gave her the letter I even noticed some typeOs lol....whocares? she can find it funny...sweet...I made her laugh..or she can think I suck at English..even though I pretty much have enough english classes to major in the subject...don't think about it...write it, type, long, short..doesn't matter...as long as she reads it and it gets the point across. I don't recommend calling her an idiot or something in the letter that is pretty much it .
I assure you she will NOT be like this..."Wow, he has such nice hand writing that I have to date him" ....lol think about how silly that is...you can reverse it too..."OMG, he missspelled a word..no way am I answering back a guy who loves me but can't spell one word!"...lol

Um, I have something to confess.
Once, this guy I had broken up with sent me a letter that, while heartfelt, was so full of mistakes I actually was offended and.....well....
I marked it up with a red pen and sent it back to him.
