The reasons why tattoos make you an idiot is because there is no logical reason why to get them but there is plenty of logical reasons why not to get them. I base all intelligence on this. I have a fancy piece of paper from a university, I would hate myself to use it as a prop in an argument. I keep running into all the rational good reasons to get a tattoo that would actually nullify the risk of skin cancer (even at the low level of chances that it is) and can't find any other than getting laid...however I think they don't help. I am in fact so confident that I know if you tattooed DM all over his body he still wouldn't get any.

The fact that you enjoy them has nothing to do with it. The chemicals in the brain telling you that you enjoy them is the logical reason. My reason for the hooker was logical, it was entertainment, and best yet there was really no reason why I shouldn't which was the point in the first place. I was at the point of considering getting a tattoo this summer, it would've been something kind of bizarre but very meaningful to me, and not something that would ever be outdated. I held off not just because I'm already hesitant about tattoos but because I was first encouraged to do it by the guy I liked, and I thought I would associate it with him even though the tattoo itself would've had nothing to do with him. I'm soooo glad I didn't do it.

My flatmate likes the idea of a "pure body" and would never get a piercing or tattoo. I think that's pretty cool. I have 2 ear piercings in each ear but I don't plan on getting anything else pierced. And it's interesting what someone said about guys with tattoos having a troubled past. This guy that I talked to about the tattoos had 3, and he definitely seems to have had a troubled past.
