I didn’t have sex with him, but we still went too far. I told my boyfriend about it the next day, his initial reaction was that he didn’t want to break up; he said he still wanted to be with me but that he really needed some space. However the next day he called me to say that we needed to talk and when I met him later on he broke up with me. It has been two weeks now, we’ve talked to each other and we are still friends, but he told me that he’s not sure he’ll ever be able to get over what happened even though he loves me he says that the trust is gone, and he’s not sure he wants to risk trying to get it back because we’ll both be getting hurt all over again if things don’t work out. He said there is still a chance for us, but that I shouldn’t get my hopes up.
I know what I did was wrong, I wont make excuses for it, but I do really love him and I want to try and work things out, what can I do to start to regain his trust?
