had a bit of an argument over the phone last night with my girlfriend. thought everything would be ok, since we talked afterwards and we were ok? but her texting has been short today. i told her i would call her after work and all she said was "okk"

As for doing work, it depends on whether or not you were in the wrong. Did you insult her? Mock her opinion? Refuse to listen to her opinion? Tell her how to behave? Speak in a condescending manner? If you did any of these, you need to fix it (and don't do it again). Be honest with yourself.

However, if you were perfectly reasonable then just give her time and space. But don't go sucking up to her if you believe she was in the wrong - let her come to you. Now, some may see this as lack of communication, but I believe that it's important to figure out compatibility early on. If she demonstrates a poor fighting method and lack of remorse - then it's a warning sign you need to heed. Thing is, all relationships are good when they are good. But it's the bad times which make or break a relationship.
