There are a lot of things if its your bf/ gf you usually will do more with them there is cuddling, holding hands, making out, you can usually go to them for just about anything. Sometimes with friends you will have to watch what you tell them. You also dont usually do those other things with just friends.

Wow I can't believe no one mentioned sex as a reason to have a steady BF/GF relationship.

It's not all about sex. I'd engage in such a relationship for the wonderful mutual support and the beautiful feeling that you love someone who does love you and the warm cuddling which eventually leads to...
...sex.
Well, forget it, it IS all about sex. All roads invariably lead to it.
