That is why I think it is more important to be mindful of the kind of person you are dating. A nice, unselfish person will not let someone else pay ALL of the time. I think that when someone takes and takes and takes it shows what kind of a person they really are. It also demonstrates how they will probably handle other situations in the relationship (read: selfishly).

Whoever does the inviting should pay, so if he asked you out he should expect to pay, BUT you should always come prepared to pay your way. (I wouldn't go out with someone a second time who wasn't prepared to pay for a date he invited me on.) Also, I never go out with anyone more than twice without trying to reciprocate their generosity. For example, the guy I am starting to date won't let me pay for anything, so I made him a really nice dinner.

Maybe I missed something? Or caught something I wasn't supposed to? You say that you're starting to date a new guy. I thought you were married?
