Caspar: How about this? Don't ask. Tell. Maybe your lady's background is such that she doesn't know how, or hasn't had much practice expressing herself that way. What about you quit prompting her to express (what you think are?) her tensions and, instead, express some of your individual concerns about yourself? Like, "Can I speak with you about something? I've been watching myself and it seems...What you think about that?...."
At best, if she's predisposed to, the conversation will just naturally roll around to things she's going through. At worst, she'll stay mum, but will take in the example, see it's all okay, and begin offering up her stuff somewhere down the line without any prompting or persuasion from you.
On the other hand, she MAY BE wired differently and it may have nothing to do with trust or know how. She just may be more introverted and cautious than you are about giving up what she may see as her privacy. Then, I'd say, the shoe's on your foot to wear. Adjust.
Oh, yes I've noticed. I thought you were accusing Cybog of throwing them around, but I haven't noticed him doing it. Nevermind, then. Carry on...
Actually, I think Cybog might be more inclined to thump a Bible thumper than to wave The Book around helplessly.

Haha! I think you are right! (And because I am evil, I would like to see that happen!)
Just as an FYI, my father is a minister. I used to BE a thumper myself. I probably know more about the Bible and scripture than 75% of the thumpers out there.
So to any who would question my ability to thump the thumpers, I say bring it bitches.
