    "Don't take it personally" is a special code phrase that actually means the opposite. Or more accurately, it always leads into a personal attack that the attacker doesn't want you to defend against.

    Don't take it personally, but that dress makes you look fat. Don't take it personally, but even a blind man can see the difference between those two people. Don't take it personally, but blah blah blah, I am better than you.

    Good decisions come from experience. Experience comes from bad decisions.

    Dont take it personaly its like Take it easy. I ussualy say "no offense" when I disrespect people but dont want the same in return.

    Gosh, thanks for the replies everyone. You all make sense, and of course I don't have your objectivity. I know I probably sound like a naive type of woman, but you know, the last few days have been good. He stopped himself yesterday when he got annoyed with something. I don't know if I'm just grasping at straws or not...but I promised myself it's the last chance for him. If I leave though, I won't come back. Thanks again all.
