Maybe the friends she had over just don't like you? It may not have been about her at all.

But yeah, I can see why she might want to keep a new boy away from you. Don't push her in this area. (I know you won't.)

For the record, I can't imagine ever excluding someone I was living with.

Yeah. I'm gonna leave it. She hasn't spoken a word to me so far this morning. I wish I could understand a little more about what happened. But perhaps you're right, maybe she just needs the space.

My best friend and my boyfriend are both people who occasionally go through periods where they need alone time. Too much social contact can wear them out, whereas I could go forever at the same pace if I have to. I got a crash course in this when my best friend and I used to live together last year. There were times she would become virtually silent and hide out in her room. At first it hurt because it made me feel like I'd done something, but then I realized it's just how she functions. Kinda like she's resetting her clock. Nowadays we joke about these extreme differences in our personalities.

Not saying that I'll reach that point with "L", but it'll get easier. I won't push her. I'll just be nice when I see her, and not fake nice!
