    I Hate World of Warcraft

I have no interest in playing it, I have no interest in paying monthly for a single game. And I've once again lost all 3 of my friends to it.

It's all they do since the expansion has come out, just sit in TeamSpeak, and play WoW. They have no drive to do anything else. If I present them with the idea of not playing WoW, they want to me to have some sort of plan all laid out for them to follow. Basically, until I come up with something they all want to do, they'll just sit there and play that ****ing game.

I'm actually considering just going out and finding new friends.

Seriously, this is ridiculous, and all they ****in' say when I mention that it's all they do, they tell me to pick it up too. **** that shit. It's literally like an addiction, they'll deny it, but really everything else comes second, ****ing pathetic.

You know, I'm working on a report on WoW for my psych class. Ever hear of a Skinner box? Basically it's a box you stick a mouse in. There's a lever the mouse can hit. If it hits the lever it gets a treat. At first every time it hits the lever it gets a treat. Then you adjust it so the mouse has to hit the lever multiple times before it gets a treat. Eventually the mouse is pounding on that lever nonstop, desperately working to get a tiny little morsel for a reward. WoW follows exactly the same principle. It's an absolutely brilliant cash cow.

Sucks about your friends. I knew a girl who left her boyfriend because he wouldn't stop playing that damn game. By the time they bore of WoW there'll probably be a new skinner box for them to throw their money at...

I don't understand video game obsession. Of every kind of addiction there is, it sounds the least interesting. Keep resisting, Frasbee!!
Relax... I'll need some information first. Just the basic facts - can you show me where it hurts?

    hahaha.

you need friends that share the same interests as you. going out and finding more friends doesn't mean losing your old ones. be patient and forgive them; they will get burnt out.

Operant conditioning. I study psychology too.

Fras --- Online video games = Waste of life. If they're addicted to WoW, believe me they're gonna' be addicted to it for quite a long time.

My vote goes to cigarettes. "Oh goody! My teeth will turn yellow and I get to cough a lot and be grumpy!"

Fras, they are dead. Gone. All that is left of them is a shell of their former selves.

Finding new friends sounds like a good idea.

I play but not as much as I used to. It's pretty much my only way to get any kind of social interaction here in the boondocks. I've got friends in Minneapolis that play with me but they dont play as much either. However that being said as soon as I get done with community college (I call it high school 102) and get to a place with more people my own age I can easily say down with WoW up with Life. Though right now I'm focusing more on my coursework... speech class is totally FTW. Major confidence builder, now if I only had somewhere to use my newfound skills. Oh well, one step at a time I guess.

I just realized, the easiest friends for me to make are the dudes in my building maintenance class.

    But they're all black.

At least two of them are into console gaming, maybe I could start there...

Ok, so whats this about WoW? I am a WoW Veteran.

You guys just dont know what to think of a game that is "that" good.

I have been playing it for about 3 years.. It is addicting, but thats not the games fault.. its peoples fault. People just need to learn that real life must take priority. I will never turn down a friend for WoW.

The reason its so addicting is because your in an gaming environment where you MUST rely on others to survive. Theres over 8 million people who play the game, so naturally there is a huge opportunity for social interaction. It literally is a "World" in and of itself.

There is actually a exchange rate for World of Warcraft Currency to US currency. People quit there jobs and are able to make a living off the game.. I think that is taking a bit too far, but you know how that goes.. someone has to do the dirty jobs sometime.

    But w/e. =P
There are moments when one feels free from one's own identification with human limitations and inadequacies. At such moments one imagines that one stands on some spot of a small planet, gazing in amazement at the cold yet profoundly moving beauty of the eternal, the unfathomable; life and death flow into one, and there is neither evolution nor destiny; only Being. - Albert Einstein
