Student teacher relationship - Should they be together?

A student (turning 16) and a teacher (29) truly love each other and definatly don't sleep together.
The student is very ill and has 6 months to live.

Should be they together?
If not why, I mean they don't sleep together and they're happy together.

Is this breaking the law?

I say no. He's not 16 yet, first of all. You dont sleep together, but you could possibly sleep together. It is against the law until that boy is sixteen.

If the student has only 6 months to live then she should do what she wants but if she truely loves him she wouldn't torture him by being closer to him since she's going to die soon. After she dies, he would be heartbroken and who knows maybe he might even commit suicide. It would be incredibly selfish for the student to get closer to the student when she knows she is going to die soon.

No, it is not appropriate. A sixteen year old is not legally old enough to consent for a good reason. If the teacher encourages this type of thinking, he should be fired.

Exactly. Not to mention immoral. I can't believe a 29 year old put in a position of trust would want to basically take advantage of a child. They shouldn't be teaching, and if I knew who they were I'd have them fired (and possibly beaten....).

A 16 year old and a 29 year old's idea of love are completely different. Although I doubt the 29 year old is 'in love' as much as he is infatuated with her and the idea of getting some hot young ass. Either that or he's extremely emotionally stunted.

So my answer is no, regardless of the circumstances, they should definitely not 'be together', even if she is dying. You don't get to do stupid or illegal/immoral things just before you're dying. Would you say it was okay for a man to cheat on his wife because he's dying??

It scares me how many stories like this seem to be coming out these days. I think I want to home school my kids, yeesh.
