I know what you are talking about ... it's a body language thing. Supposedly, when you are attracted, you tend to naturally mimic each others' body movements and positions.
As an indication of attraction, if the girl does this naturally, it means she's attracted to you.
There is no "purpose" for it unless done intentionally to deceive.
