No. I'm reasonably certain that's legit. After watching that I found the full conversation as well as a number of e-mails between the guy and Verizon.
Initially Verizon offered to cut him a 50% discount. He didn't accept. In the end they just wrote off the entire fee. What's even more frightening, though, is the fact that according to this guy many, many people are being quoted the same thing. did any of the customer service reps ever concede by the end of the phone call i wonder? i can understand why they would get mixed up initially if new on the job, there is a hell of a difference of course, but thats how the company are selling the product i guess. they should just be honest and say it's $0.002 which it's obviously meant to be (altho saying that i don't know how much a kilobyte should be worth). it is funny tho that it went as far as it did.
