    Problems cause by religion

I don't wanna sound like an ignorant but what kind of problems has religion caused on this panet. Here in Canada not many people follows it coz they say it's problematic. I know some problems and the Obvious ones but what are the problems religion brings in your opinion.

    Thanks

Without wanting to flame: spouse battering, child abuse, humiliation, shunning, control, superiority complex, hate, racism, discrimination... do I need to go on?

Actually, when you think about it - aren't these really more of an issue with lack of religious tolerance?

This thread is long as river and cause just unneed anger, fights etc. Each member here has other religion and each one will defend own religion. I think it's just senseless to talk about it here... Find some religion forum and talk about it there.
Each religion has it's flaws, there is no better and worst...

People would still have burned and tortured each other even without religion. Religion is just a nice little excuse for a bloodthirsty nature. Not that I'm defending religion or anything.

So I take it you all have heard about the lunatics who don't want their son to receive medical attention, right? The ones who want to pray the cancer out of him? What are your thoughts on that?

Personally, I think they should lose custody of their child and if there are any complications whatsoever due to their not seeking medical attention right away I think they should rot in prison. Honestly, it scares me like nothing else to know it's even up for debate. I don't like religion. I have no respect for it. But I tolerate it. However, when it's taken to such an insane, selfish, utterly deranged level I think we need to take a hint from history and tie those nutjobs up in the middle of a stadium and unleash starving lions.

Yeah but religion is such a nice excuse to justify abusive behaviour... God told me so.

Religion is a nice spiritual control tool for the masses... it works well alongside government and appeals to those with a fear of the unknown... or the human factor.

It's a quote from rules of Love Forum

    7) Religious and Political topics have no place on this forum. If you would like information or to ask someone's opinion on religious doctrine, feel free to ask. Debates, complaints, or flaming each other regarding religious ideals will be deleted or locked immediately. There are a thousand other forums out there where you can debate all you want. Loveforum will not be it.
