what are some bands you guys like that may not be mainstream or something of that nature that you like

i would say the Drive-by Truckers, they are a good southern rock band who come out of muscle shoels alabama, same area as lynyrd skynyrd

Matchbook Romance is about to become mainstream - they have already made it to FUSE tv (its better than MTV)

But for my band I like, its a local (well not local for me) band in St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada. They are called Two 13. Very nice rock band. Check them out - you can find there music on just about any bit torrent engine or P2P network. They aint mainstream by a LONG shot tho.

If you Like emo, try out "Smile Empty Soul", particulary the tracks 'Silhouettes' (I love this song, cos I think it stoped a mate from killing herself), 'The other Side' & 'I want my life'.
But that depends on if you like softer or harder songs. The tracks I listed there where softer. These are harder: 'Nowhere Kids', 'Bottom of a Bottle' & 'Sleepwalking'.

How about this? Last Tribe, In Thy Dreams, Nightwish, and Kittie? *well not Kittie anymore, but I've been listening to them for two years now.* Let's see, Dope, Kamelot, BLind Guardian, A7X before they were famous, hm, All really great metal bands. Oh, and have you heard of the new Music Genre?

Opera Metal, it's fricken awesome too!
