Falling in love with friends

Is it possible to suddenly fall in love with someone who has been a very close friend to you for almost your entire life, but you just never felt that way about before?

Of course it's possible. Why wouldn't it be possible? People change...your feelings for them change/develop differently over time. Timing is everything. You just have to be careful about pursuing a close/best friend because you're risking that relationship for something more. If it turns sour, you may be losing a close friend. On the other hand, married couples always say their partners are their best friends.
