What makes you want to marry?

Does it really surprise you that a bunch of single guys who don't have any plans to start a family soon will be against marriage? .

No, not at all. I get why some people think the way they do, even if it's silly.

I was more curious why I don't know any single women who are happily solo and have no plans for marriage openly hating on it.

I would say you are one of the few individuals who can actually state this with a straight face, given what you've been through. In fact, that you CAN still say this says a lot of good things about you, BlueSum.

I can certainly think of negatives. But I would say, on balance that a good marriage is worth far more than a 'good single', such as it is.

Thanks Indi. I agree wholly with the second part. I've been very happy single. I'm more happy in this relationship though. Not because I NEED someone to be happy, I've learned that I most definitely don't.......but I've found that people can come along that add to your life in ways you didn't realize they could. It's great.
