Apart from at school when I had no choice I"ve never written poetry. Now, I've written two for my GF.
Comments or constructive criticism gratefully received. Here they are:

During the week we are apart,
but in my heart you are here, with me, always
Friday comes and I feel truly alive
because I know that you will arrive,
to be here with me
We go crazy, we get lazy,
we have fun, we are one, together
With you I feel whole, you have my body and
my soul
Will this last? What a question to ask
I can only say, that when we met by the beach,
on that first day, I was entranced by you,
I danced in my heart
And when we are apart, you are with me,
always, in my heart.
I adore the small caresses, that you give to me
that make my heart fly free,
You don't know just how much,
I love you so.

My tsunami
Unexpected and powerful, you arrive in my life, like a tsunami.
And I have the choice to flee from you or be overwhelmed, like a tsunami.
I cannot flee, I can't stop looking at you, my tsunami.
And I am overwhelmed by you, taken by the force of you, like a tsunami.
I am tumbling over and over, drowning, like a tsunami.
Drowning in my emotions for you, my tsunami.
Leaving me washed up, dead, but oh so alive, my love, my tsunami.
