Just interested. What does it mean? Since the age of 19 (and now I"m an old fart of 46) I have never asked a woman 'will you be my girlfriend?" - you just get it on and away you go. Discuss

"official" is a term for people who need a website like Facebook to confirm their relationships status because they aren't confident or proactive enough or something.

I plan on telling this girl my feelings for her... but I am not going to be like "Do you want to be my girlfriend, check yes or no". I plan to be like "I just want you to know that I think really like you, and that there is nothing I can find about you that I don't like. I just think you should know that.", and pretty much leave it at that. No pressure for her, and she can either take it or leave it, you know? If she really likes me in return it will naturally evolve into something.

I think as you get older you can become 'official' through boths chemistry rather than a simple question.
