Marilyn Monroe and diamonds?

Well I'll try to keep it short. I made a similar post a few months ago about to get some females opinions about the very same girl.

The fact is that I practised a sport and there was a girl which I grow very fond of.
She's very pretty and has a very intrinsic charm on her, we have had many very long talks just about any subject, she's somewhat cultured, everytime we practised together we laugh and teased each other. We went out sometimes also.

I used grab her butt playfully and she did the same to me and we smiled, one day I even managed to steal a small kiss from her but she didn't react, just smiled and was like wondering "WTF?", but that's it, that how close we ever get.

One day she told me she wanted to be like Marilyn Monroe and had the ideology that diamonds are a girl's best friend.

A few years ago I quited my training and began to work, after a while she quitted to, ever since we talked on MSN but that became harder because she started to work to. And we envetually lost contact.

Now I have my life on rails and I was trying to be with her again, but she seems to avoid me by any means. And I was wondering why? I never wronged her in anyway.
She never shows up when we meet with common friends, she never picks up my calls or my text messages, I only managed to talk her on MSN like 2min, she said she was very busy with her studies and work, apart from that everytime I try to get a response, on IM, e-mail...I got no answer at all. Which troubles me a lot.

Could she became uninterested over time?
She fears that something may spark if we meet again?
Could I just be stupid to believe in something?

I know I'm mild attractive and very picky and this girl was one of the very few that really interested me.

What's your thoughts mates?

Sound like she thinks of you as a friend. Or maybe she's involved with somebody now, and senses that you're pursuing her and doesn't want to encourage you.

I thought that also, but not encouraging not necessarily means leaving you like talking to a wall.
I don't do that to girls that I'm not interested, I still talk to them normally, I just make sure we both now the difference between friendship and relationship.
Just wondering why some women (most) do that and we have to accept it.
