    pregnancy patches

Do the patches really work cause my girlfriend has to wear one and we wonder if it really works or not cause we don't always have a condom and we want to have sex it just we are afraid to make love with out a condom but we really want to make love and we just want to know if it works cause it is 99.9% sure she will not get pregnant. so are we safe to make love without a condom as long as I pull out

Punctuation! Does that ring a bell? (I'm starting to get the feel of this forum. ). Pulling out is the 2nd dumbest method of contraception!

What do you mean? Pulling out would keep her from getting pregnant and I would pull out before I came.

Sorry hon. Pulling out does not mean she wont get pregnant. So many people are actually stupid enough to believe it works. Believe it or not, there is actually semen in your precum most of the time. That leaks out all during sex so if you pull out right before you cum, it really makes little difference. As for the patch, your girlfriend sounds like a bimbo if she doesn't know anything about it. If it is THE patch, then it works just like the pill if she is using it right. No offence but it sounds to me like you are just two kids who have no idea what you are doing. Maybe you should do your homework before playing the game. (Pun absolutely intended)

Condoms are not that expensive man

Just keep some in your wallet like i do...
You take your wallet everywhere dont you? So in this case you dont have to worry about not having one....

And those patches are BS! Just think about it lol

You're wallet has to be the most hostile environment for a condom besides the glovebox of a car. Sorry COAD, maybe you should find a new place before you get a girl pregnant. Seriously, your wallet gets shoved in your back pocket on most occasions and your body is warm. Read the box for temperature storage. It's nowhere near 98.6* and I can guarantee you that. Not just that, your wallet gets a lot of wear and tear. It rubs around, gets knocked into and it just might be wearing down the condom inside. This is just a warning, not ridicule. Trust me. Just looking out for your well being. As for the patch being BS, it really isnt if she got it at her gyno and it is a Rx. Over the counter types (if they exist), I wouldn't be so sure about. But THE PATCH (like the one that is always advertised on tv), is just as effective as the pill. It's puting the same hormones into your body so it works. My gyno recommended it to me but I don't like it because it is once a week and I know I will forget to change it. The pill is daily so its always in the back of your head. For me, that is the best way to go about doing it. Anyway. Yeah........

She got hers from her doctor and she changes it every week and the only reason we are asking is because so many people say it doesn't work

It's usually the same progestin and estrogen. That said, I don't know how effective it is. Rose might have a point there about forgetting it.

Well, I don't know much more about the patch then I have already mentioned but it does work from what I know but it doesn't protect against HIV or STDs so you should still be using condoms for that reason. It's a $3 investment that could save your life later on down the road. Just be smart.
