    tanning

    Hey guys.

Sorry I know this is off topic but could use some tips please

Im planning a holiday to Spain soon but my skin is pale. Im not sure if fake tan is safe in the sun? and which one would be the best to avoid streaks etc? Ill also be putting sunscreen over it obviously.

I was thinking maybe the john-sons tan- one that builds up a light tan over time. If I put that on every night after a shower. Its also a moisturizer

sorry i know this sounds stupid but I don't want to look like an albino with all those tanned hotties in Spain lol

    What do you guys think?

    Thanks

Go to a Tanning Salon (call them to see how long it lasts so you'll know how soon to go before you leave) and get one of those spray on tans. Putting on lotion leaves too much room for error and tell-tale streaks... Speaking from (oh the horror) real-time experience. lolzzz

I don't know about fake tan, but I'll go ahead and put on my Captain Obvious costume: if you have time and means (i.e. sunny days), why don't you lay in the sun for a couple of hours every day before you leave (you can read a book or take a nap etc) in the meanwhile, so that you will have real tan :-)?

St. Tropez tanning mousse or Sephora self-tanning tinted bronzing mist both have good reviews. Won't streak. Even tan.

Please do not tan! Getting tan is a sign of sun damage. By avoiding tanning your skin, you'll keep your skin more healthy-looking (fewer wrinkles, sun spots/ age spots, freckles).
Your skin may look better when you initially get a tan, but that's b/c the color is hiding the damage. Once your tan fades, your skin looks worse than it did before you ever tanned.
As for fake-tans.. I wouldn't recommend them b/c they can be filled with toxic chemicals. Check out environmental working group's cosmetics database to see the safety ratings for over 64,000 products.
    Pale can be beautiful too!

Thanks Clean. I am aware of the dangers of fake tan but its still better than looking like a ghost lol. I have a natural aloe based tan which is quite safe but for the holiday I will have to risk the chemical spray tan.
