    talking to a stranger

I was at a hockey game with my boyfriend of 2 years a couple nights ago. while were walking to our seats I notice a man wearing an emmit smith jersey. I walk up to him and his wife and said "I love your jersey" then walked away. boyfriend is furious! Said I was disrespectful and lack social skills. I see nothing wrong with what I did. is he right? Is what I did completely unacceptable?

No, there was nothing wrong. Everyone is different in what socially acceptable; though most if from culture there is little nuisances from a single person. To me, I find that a ok. When I was at comic con with my ex, I said "Nice Doug outfit" from a guy wearing Quailman (Doug in a superman knock off with underwear). Nothing wrong with it.

There is nothing wrong with what you did. You were obviously with your boyfriend and he was with his wife. It's not like you went up to him alone while his wife was in the ladies room. Your boyfriend is overreacting.
