Birthday gift

My girl's birthday is coming up, and I was thinking of getting her a new mobile. The problem is, we have been dating about a month, and I don't want to overdo it in terms of too much too soon. Opinions?

How old is she? I think the first gift will say volumes about your new relationship, so think about it carefully. Is there any small thing that she has said she liked or inted about? If you can pick up something that was in a conversation prior, and get a gift related to that, she'll love it. She'll think you listen to her blah blah blah....unless of course you don't, and have no idea what her interests are.

For example: if she said once, "Oh, I would die to go to Paris someday, it's been a dream of mine", maybe get her a nice picture/print of Paris. Tell her you remembered her saying that she had said she always wanted to go. Then, maybe sneak in, "Maybe the two of us will go there someday..."

dont get her a cell phone, you arent sure how the relationship will turn out and you might just end up wasting your money like that.
get her laid on her bday or something. take her out to eat and to the movies, or stuff like that..etc

It depends how old they are. If they're in their thirties, dinner and a movie is out. Cheapo.

Give me the free food.

I can skip the movie part.

Oh and Lloyd.

You gotta stop bashin' on him cause of his age.

The fact you're draggin' it out is making you look childish.

also im basing your opinions on the fact that you probably take life forgranted with the riches of money etc. you think you can just buy your way into a girls heart. well you prolly are into them gold digger girls.

its not the worth, its the thought that counts.

I guess it depends on how you look at birthdays. You DO get to have one every year, you know. Maybe since its her birthday, you can see a theater event/live performance instead of a movie. It's only been a month, for crying out loud...

Dating 1 month isn't boyfriend and girlfriend. If you are already calling each other that, expect a breakup before long. Aren't you people reading around here?

Oh, and 1 month into the relationship is hardly time to be buying anything that big of a deal. I wouldn't spend more than the cost of a card and a dinner or something like that. 2 months from now you might not even be together. No sense watching her smash your phone in front of you when that happens....

I was referring to lilwing.

How is the above directed at Lil?
You're from Philly for crying out loud.

About the one month thing, he called her "his girl". I think it's early too. My point was pick something that she might have said she enjoyed, to show you're listening. a nice picture, a movie (DVD) she loved. An original book if that's what she's into. etc.

Shh! I agree, one month is early, but it still sets the tone of their relationship.
