Artistic Feels (an art thread)

Not sure too many people will be into this but I'm a huge art enthusiast. If I could spend all day in an art exhibit I probably would. I dabble a bit in paint and charcoal and have been inspired by a number of different pieces and artists. Thought it would be cool to share some dope work by some people and possibly a few pieces of my own down the road. I encourage anyone else who sees something that really speaks to them, whether it be a painting, a sculpture, a drawing, whatever to post.

I am somewhat drawn to the darker side of things. So I'm going to share a few painting/photos of some surreal dark artist's work I recently discovered
at a few shows and browsing the internet.

Next are some sculptures that I found ridiculously beautiful. I've never tried my hand at sculpting but if I did would only hope to be half as talented
    as these people were.

This one seriously amazes me. Having to make stone look like a see through veil is mind blowing to me. ****ing gorgeous.

Those are beautiful. I liked picture two the most, ( still can't even quote images, or post them here)

Also liked sculptures, 3 and 4.

3 is very romantic and 4 I like how the light shows through the cracks and is nice with the cityscape behind it.

I like all the images you posted, pictures, sculptures.. Do you have any famous painters you like the most and ones you never cared for? I love Monet and Renoir, never liked Van Gogh at all, I find all his work terribly depressing. I like some of Dali too...I'll post some paintings I like off each and some sculptures I like too...my favorite painting image you linked is the girl with the bandaged face/head..

    Renoir

    Monet

My calender is of Monet paintings. I love all his work.

    Dali

    I love Butterflies.

Look how colorful the art is I like, compared to yours, lol. Monet, Renoir and Dali make me happy when I look at their artwork, is why I like it, zen.

anya_may21: The last statue is actually connected to a structure that lights up. I'll try to find the full size image and post it. I just put the close up one so everyone could see the detail.
hatesthis: Haha there is quite a difference between the art you posted and the art I did. I do enjoy paintings by Monet and of course I like Van Gogh for the same reason you dislike his work ha. Idk I just find beauty is his depressive state. I also really like the work of Wassily Kandinsky and Tiziano Vecelli. Their art was classic and beautiful. Planning on posting some of their work later on. I would do it now but I'm too lazy..

Thanks for sharing some of your favorites. Knew I could count on you to join in on the picture sharing..

The one of the lady meditating? That sculpture is beautiful, also the angel one you and hatesthis posted.

If you want to google and post this image for me I would appreciate it. I don't really know too much about art, but i like paintings done in blue.

Brett Whiteley - The Pink heron

I like that painting, by an Australian artist.

Yes, that is the painting, thank you. It is one of my favourites.

Like the last painting you posted above: the blue mermaid on the anchor, I love the look of that one too.

Brett Whiteley has one called: Coincidence I like too ( another done in blue)

    Interesting selection, nicco88.

I myself am an admirer of Henry Fuseli's and William Blake's work.

Night and day differences... Van Gogh is a favorite to you for reasons he isn't to me, lol. I don't find his faces, colors nothing inspiring, can't get behind the Gogh and I am in a depressive state myself...I'll look up the two artists you mentioned, I don't know them...The painting you posted of the girl with the ship above her head would make an awesome tattoo. Love that one.

    Here's a few others I like:

What are those paintings in 3 parts called? ^

hatesthis: It's called a triptych. I love those. There's this ****ing dope museum in berlin that's just full of triptychs..every piece they have. It's pretty awesome.

All the art pieces I'm posting today are by this artist in NY named Andy Kehoe. Not sure it he hails out of NY or not but I recently went to a few of his shows and his shit is just on point. I wanted to buy everything ha.

Those are very beautiful. But kind of creepy. lol
A strong woman takes advantage of help she can get from people around her but she doesn't rely on them for anything

She uses logic and manages her emotions

She offers help either because it is a business transaction or out of kindness. It is never because she hopes others will return the favour or out of fear of losing them

She has her own mind and thinks for herself and knows that she has to be the one who bears the consequences of her decisions
