Worse Ways to Break-Up and Happy About It?

What has been the worse way you broke up with someone? Once the break up was said and done, did your partner ever so off and happily announce it? I had an ex do this, he right away went onto social media and said how happy he was to be single etc. It hurt a lot to hear him say this when I thought for sure he would feel hurt but nope. As for break ups, I've had it done over email, text, instant messenger, phone, never had it happen in person. What about you?

If your ex was so happy about it then why would he feel the need to proclaim such? More likely his childish display was for your consumption and masked his true feelings.

I broke up with someone over the phone once. She was a bit over 100 miles away and we'd only been official a few weeks, so I didn't feel too awful about how I did it...or at least I felt worse about ever getting involved with her than how I ended it.

Never used text alone, that's just ridiculous. I won't even have meaningful dialogue with a significant other via text/email/social circus...er media.

I thinking break up in person is the wrong way to go, because you don't know what that person could do to you. They could accept it and leave or try something.

That ex sounds like a right cunt! better off if that is all he took from your relationship was to bash you.

That's a curious thing to say. It's easy to say some things over text that people won't say to your face, but those things, once said can be just as damaging and take far longer to heal than physical abuse. Not to mention the fact that they likely know you quite well and can almost surely find you at their convenience at any point. Anyway if you're with someone and don't trust them not to turn your lights out for breaking up with them then you shouldn't have been with them in the first place. Texting a breakup seems horribly impersonal and disrespectful to me.

Geezus, what kind of men do you date? I've never felt the slightest frightened of the men I've dated.

If you can't break up with a guy in person, then rethink the kinds of men you're dating.

Yes, it was very hurtful to do on my birthday. We were only dating under 8 months at the time of his text.
