one more issue that i have is the slope, there are steps leading to the back yard but they are basically in a really bad condition, so i have to work around that as well:

i wish i could grow jasmines they are so beautiful. they would burn to death in my climate. i think tomato plants smell soooo good.

right now i'm planting the 3 sisters of the new world. tomatoes, squash, and beans. i tried getting basil from seed but they bolted because it was so hot this summer.

i got in some lettuce mix for a winter crop.

i don't know what the weather is like for you all right now but i'd start putting in winter crops at this point. spinach, lettuce, radish, and basil usually does pretty well in a frost too. do you guys get frosts?
baby ya hustle. but me i hustle harder.

    Poppies.

Pretty. Also useful if you decide to turn your hands to the drugs trade.

We get pretty cold in the winter, considering it is Southern California... down into the low 30s at night (and sometimes upper 20s). We get frost sometimes, and it ruins the oranges, but at least we don't get snow.
Relax... I'll need some information first. Just the basic facts - can you show me where it hurts?

Freesia if you like nice smelling flowers. I hate all of you who are growing tomatoes. Ours are still green.

Wow, Sonrisa. You have a beautiful garden. And it's huge.

I love fresias. They occur in my yard 'naturally' I've been meaning for ages to gather up the bulbs and actually put them all together because they are rather scattered.

I would like to suggest rosemary. It flowers in a similar way to lavender and is wonderful for cooking with.

If you are interested in an herbal garden, you may want to consider some lemon balm for aroma therapy and teas. You are welcome to look into herbal pantries as well.

Here is a list of plants I hope to eventually grow to some extent:

Herb list for growing in containers:

    Anise
    Basil
    Borage
    Chervil
    Chives
    Dill
    Epasote
    Fennel
    Hops
    Lovage
    Margoram
    Nasturtium
    Oregano
    Parsely
    Peppercorn
    Rosemary
    Sage
    Stinging nettle
    Tarragon
    Thyme
    Yarrow

well don't feel bad mine are green still too because of the extreme heat. my vegetables are just now starting to produce because it's cooling down a bit.

i have an over abundance of bulbs for these guys called "pregnant onions." they make a big bulb and have a ton of tiny ones growing out of them. they've already broken two of my pots but they're very lovely. you can't eat them but they're cute.

pm me your address and i'll send you some if you're interested.
baby ya hustle. but me i hustle harder.

Sonrisa, your area looks very pretty! You & your mom have done a great job.

My guy & I live in an apartment complex, but we make do with a little garden each year.

This year we planted Wave Petunias, the smell great & have bloomed like crazy!

    Here's a pic...

We also planted Cherry Bomb peppers, hot as hell (according to my guy). It was a little slow to start growing the fruit, but once it got going, we have a TON growing now.

Here is the pic of the Cherry Bomb plant...

Do you see where the blue sign is.>>lavender. Keep the existing wood uprights that borders the gardern=rustic ....we need a CAD progam for this!
And you see that rectangle pot to the right .Thats where your herbs begin
