Yeahh. I mean, does it seem to you guys that he truly liked me for me?

I do not know. But yeah If he has said he like you , than the probability increases that he liked you(once upon a time).
But what is the case now can only be understood by talking with him.
indeed if you can be smart in talk and can judge what all he is speaking , you will come to know what he is all about.

If you find that the discussion is ending without any conclusion, just add a little emotion and juts see how he reacts.
but emotions should be very little and should be added as a last resort.A fair friendly discussion give opportunity to speak and emotion based talk subject pressure in which most of us try to defend oneself being good (and then try and explain rather than giving a solution). Make him casual to you while talking and if he really likes you he will tell you the truth.
