Hi Hayward!
Hi Hayward!
Oh, news: I quit my job this morning. Walked in at 7:00 AM. Took a long, hard look around and said to myself, "**** this." Took a moment or two to say "bye" to a couple of co-workers I gave a shit about; told my boss "the show's over," and was out the door by 7:15. Hunkered over my keyboard now with a 12-gauge between my knees and cute little terrier at my feet, both aimed at the front door to keep wolves away while I ponder my next move. (Bet'cha thought for a second there I had the gun aimed under my chin, didn'ja?)
Nothing feels quite so liberating as quitting "a job." Hm. Maybe I'll take another one just so I can quit it later and get the rush again.
Speak less. Say more.
LOL!
Nice Hayward.
I agree - sometimes it can feel so good to quit a job.
Ok. congrats if that's what you wanted. Isn't the Senior Bowl down in Alabama? You could go watch them for awhile.
You remind me of Michael Douglas in "Falling Down."

had you thought about quitting before, or was this a spur-of-the-moment thing?Originally Posted by whaywardj
LOL... now now you two, no need to be grabbing at anything!!!
Have other things settled down for you Hayward? As in stress related things..
If you can't handle the thorns, don't crave the rose!!
Not significantly, RB. Quitting the job was a GREAT help, though. I'm still bouncing like Daffy Duck off one unexpected event after another seemingly immovable obstacle. But I'm enjoying it more.
Is that sick, er what?
And not at all spur-ish, Alice. Took the job for one reason, but started getting tangled up in it for others. It had outlived it usefulness to me.
Not unlike some women I've slept with.
