Thats exactly right, part of the status quo and something you have to accept if you want to ride.

I have taken a slew of riding classes/lessons, I have the whole riding gear set up from head to toe and a good health insurance and bike insurance policy.

The kind of riding I do is a lot faster and more aggressive than the guys you see around town, but the injury/fatality rate is a lot lower. Its the around town riding that is the most dangerous, cars kill more of us than any loss of control ever will.

Take it one step at a time and pay to protect your ass, nothing more I can do.
